Dr Laughlan, after spending his early medical career working in both Victorian and Queensland hospitals, found his true passion in the specialty of General Practice and has recently graduated from the RACGP specialty training program. He is passionate about getting to know his patients and developing long-term relationships of trust and care with them, from young to senior.
Dr Laughlan has particular interests in:
- Skin cancer and surgery, including skin checks and skin trauma repair
- Chronic disease management (including care plans and health checks)
- Sports medicine, including concussion diagnosis and management, and weight loss
- Men’s health
Though he enjoys all areas of medicine, from paediatrics to aged medicine. Dr Laughlan also performs iron (Fe) infusions. Dr Laughlan has recently completed further training in skin cancer medicine through the Skin Cancer College of Australia. Also, having been a personal trainer for 10 years, he has expertise in the holistic approach to health, disease prevention and management, including diet, weight loss and exercise, which he tailors individually to each person’s needs and circumstances.
Outside of medicine, Dr Laughlan typically enjoys spending time with his family, especially with his many nieces and nephews, activities that either spike adrenaline or require a steady hand, as well as now having completed his specialty training, furthering his own fitness pursuits by competing in natural competitive bodybuilding, having recently competed at the national level and winning two gold medals.
